Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why MFD OSB labels and switches sometime
don't correspond to those onto the game?
A: Because Pocket MFP doesn't read data from the game (not yet!). The
OSB labels come from 3 fixed groups which can
change according to the client-selected FCC master mode (NAV,
A-A and A-G).
Q: The ICP List and some others buttons do
not work!
A: Pocket MFP requires the original Falcon keys-mapping just for the
implemented buttons and switches.
You should change your custom key-file in order to match the original game's
keys-mapping for Pocket MFP's panels.
Anyway it's easy to fix a wrong keystroke: go into Falcon's setup-key menu, select the key you want to fix
and press the corresponding button on Pocket MFP to send the properly keystroke.
Q: Can I use my old Pocket PC device with Pocket MFP?
A: Pocket MFP supports Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5 and Windows
Mobile 6 family devices
with a screen resolution of 240x320 (QVGA) or 480x640 (VGA).
The Pocket PC must be able to host "Microsoft .NET Compact
Framework 2.0".
Please check Microsoft's website for further information
regarding compatibility between framework and your device.
Q: How does Pocket PC communicate with desktop PC?
A: Pocket MFP uses the ActiveSync link between Pocket PC and desktop PC (usually via USB cable).
It can use TCP/IP network as well since it relies on
Pocket PC's IP network capabilities
(such as WiFi or others network interfaces) with an IP of your choice.
The MFP Server listens on TCP port 23125 by default, but that's configurable as you want.
Q: Pocket MFP takes long time to connect through
ActiveSync (USB to PC)!
A: If you are using a Windows Mobile 5 device try to disable "Advanced Networking Functionality"
in
Start->Settings->Connections->"USB to PC".
Q: Can I use two Pocket PCs connected to the
same desktop PC?
A: Yes, you can! Pocket MFP supports natively up to 3 concurrent clients
connected to a single MFP Server.
